Background:
Betty was sentenced to 1 year in jail without parole for violating a court order in the Elaho Valley.
After serving 4 months, she won a court challenge and was freed on parole. Here's what she
had to say upon her release, when she met the media at the front gates of the prison.
You can also watch an interview with Betty from when she was still in jail.
(Stay tuned for more about the book Betty wrote while incarcerated, titled "Protests, Police and
the Mean Ole Judge.")
