Background:
30-year old Renee Boje is fighting a landmark battle to remain in Canada. The U.S. is attempting to extradite Ms. Boje because of her alleged involvement in a medical marijuana bust in California.
The United States federal government is currently trying to extradite Renee because of her alleged involvement in a medical marijuana growing
operation in Bel Air, California despite state law that allows such gardens under Proposition 215.
Ms. Boje has enlisted the help of
prominent lawyers John Conroy and Alex Stojicevich
in an attempt to receive refugee status and remain in Canada.
The case has the potential for setting an important precedent
and has attracted media coverage from across North America.
